Kara Woodley Registered Massage Therapist
THE SHORT VERSION: Kara has been part of the Dynamic Physiotherapy team for 8 years, bringing a blend of clinical expertise and genuine care to every treatment. A graduate of Makami College’s 3,000-hour Advanced Clinical Massage Therapy program, she practices client-oriented massage. She’s skilled in therapeutic techniques that address pain and tension, while also recognizing that sometimes the body simply needs to relax and reset. Each session begins with the question, “What are we working on today?” – because Kara knows that the best massages start with listening. Through open, ongoing communication, each treatment is shaped collaboratively to support what is needed at that particular moment, whether that’s focussed deep tissue work, calming relaxation techniques, or gentle lymphatic massage. No two sessions are the same, because no two bodies are.
*WHAT KARA TREATS: ** ✓ Chronic muscle tension and pain ✓ Post-injury rehabilitation ✓ Repetitive strain and overuse injuries ✓ Headaches and neck tension ✓ Stress relief and relaxation ✓ Lymphedema
KARA’S APPROACH: Clinical Skill Meets Compassionate Care Massage isn’t one-size-fits-all. Kara utilizes evidence-based therapeutic techniques to address pain and dysfunction, alongside a thoughtful, compassionate approach that centers listening, consent, and care. She believes massage works best as a collaborative practice – because no one knows or is more invested in your body than you are. Kara is here to listen to your goals, offer guidance if you’re feeling unsure, and adjust each session to ensure your comfort. If it seems like another type of care would better support your needs, she won’t hesitate to refer you to the right professional. Open communication is central to creating the most effective and supportive experience possible.
Therapeutic when you need it, restorative when you don’t: Some days you need targeted work on that stubborn shoulder; other days, you might need a hot stone massage and a calm, supportive environment to unwind. Kara loves to create bespoke massage experiences tailored to your body and preferences. Some people may want to chat, others may want to rest – either way, she’s here to provide the environment that best supports what you need.
CERTIFICATIONS & TRAINING: • 3000-hour Advanced Clinical Massage Therapy Diploma (Makami College) • 135-hour Complete Lymphedema Certification Course (The Academy of Lymphatic Studies) • Hot Stone Massage (adapted from the LaStone method) • 8+ years clinical experience at Dynamic Physiotherapy WHAT’S NEXT?: In Summer 2026, Kara will be expanding her massage practice by obtaining her CPMT Level 1 – a comprehensive certification in pediatric massage.
KARA’S PHILOSOPHY: “Massage should be for everyone!” Kara works hard to ensure that everyone feels welcomed and supported on her table. She loves helping people achieve their goals – whether it’s tackling a new challenge, diving into a hobby, prioritizing their mental and physical health, or simply feeling their best – she is excited to be a part of your journey. While she practices a few modalities, Kara is particularly passionate about geriatric massage, offering a discounted rate for seniors 75+ years, because she knows that as we age, access to high-quality therapeutic touch can become limited. Her specialization in lymphatic massage has also allowed her to work closely with individuals living with cancer and those recovering from oncological treatment, and she is deeply committed to supporting this community with care, sensitivity, and compassion.
WHEN SHE’S NOT IN THE CLINIC: Kara is likely planning her next travel adventure, volunteering, or working on her English Honours Degree at Mount Royal University. She LOVES dogs and is always very excited to hear about (or meet) your furry friends!
